Overview

Responsible to see that Bunn electronics are specified, developed, produced and tested in compliance with Bunn requirements documents, performance specifications and appropriate regulatory agency and safety requirements,  provide leadership throughout the product development lifecycle, including but not limited to: Assisting with the development of product requirements and specifications; Ensuring project compliance to internal and external standards; Coordinating risk analysis activities; Creating and managing Bunn electronics deliverables; Owning and driving corrective and preventive actions; and Generating/coordinating verification and validation test activities, serves as the focal point for the various project teams and the customer on all items related to the performance of Bunn electronics as well as compliance with all Bunn procedures.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop a thorough technical understanding of all Bunn commercial electronic products       currently being produced at all facilities. 
  2. Develop a thorough understanding of all production processes and test procedures for current Bunn commercial products being produced at all facilities. 
  3. Develop a thorough understanding of all regulatory and safety requirements for Bunn commercial products. 
  4. Support outside agency and customer audits as required.
  5. Participate with Purchasing and Quality in the evaluation of contract assembly firms under consideration to build Bunn electronics, either on a design/build or build-to-print basis. 
  6. Develop and implement a research and development program for new generation Bunn electronics. 
  7. Contribute to the generation of product development plans and customer proposals. 
  8. Participate in design, process and customer FMEAs and Risk Analysis meetings. Follow up as required throughout the project life cycle to ensure effectiveness of risk mitigation activities. 
  9. Participate in design reviews for all Bunn electronic products. 
  10. Report to Bunn management personnel all relevant quality related issues related to electronics on a regular basis. 
  11. Develop, implement and monitor continuous improvement activities. 
  12. Develop, implement and monitor controls to ensure adherence to Bunn’s Design for Manufacturability Guidelines. 
  13. Travel as required to various component parts and final assembly facilities both domestically and on a global basis. 
  14. Interact with Bunn sales, technical service and customers as required to effectively communicate issues with electronic products. 
  15. Develop a process for constantly challenging designs and processes in an effort to prevent major quality issues. 
  16. Assume responsibility for all aspects of circuit design and firmware development. 
  17. Assume responsibility for correct documentation of electronic designs. (Schematics, Bills of Material, Test Specifications, Component specifications). 
  18. Participate in test equipment design and development.
  19. Participate as required in failure analysis of Bunn electronics. 
  20. Participate in analysis of competitive electronics. 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from an accredited college or university; 10 years experience in electronic product development; Write, debug and test code in C/C++; Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office; Familiarity with PCB layout, schematic capture, circuit simulation, prototyping; Demonstrated project management and problem solving skills; Demonstrated communication, facilitation and leadership skills; Self motivated and capable of working at a high level with minimal supervision; Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills; Able to travel both domestically and on a global basis.
