Overview

Responsible for technical documentation including creation and maintenance of part numbers, associated documents including 2D and 3D CAD drawings, creation, and maintenance of product structures and preparation and execution of notifications of changes (NOCs). This position requires direction from Departmental Management, Designers and Project Managers, assists with part number and product structure strategies, works in a team environment and facilitates CR/NOC management and communication.  The position is responsible for supporting day-to-day activities in the Documentation Group.

Responsibilities

  • Create, change and obsolete part numbers with appropriate information to ensure proper action by other departments.
  • Check 2D and 3D CAD drawings produced by drafters, designers or engineers for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to current drafting standards. Also, check supporting documents are present and complete.
  • Create and change 2D, 3D CAD detail drawings and supporting documents from markups or instructions from designers, project managers or others.
  • Create and change 3D CAD component models, assembly models and drawings of a basic complexity such as injection molded, cast and formed sheet metal parts.
  • Possess or develop knowledge of tolerances, notes, material specifications, ANSI and other industry standards.
  • Create and change product structure for all components, assemblies and final products containing all of the elements required to produce and sell an end product.
  • Create product structures for replacement parts, assemblies, and kits for servicing products.
  • Check product structures in SAP for accuracy and completeness.
  • Create Notification of Change (NOC) to release new or modified product to the organization in a clear and concise manner.
  • Participate in prototype builds to verify product structure, accuracy, and organization.
  • Use interpersonal skills and communication skills to contribute in a team environment.
  • Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Actively participate in Bunn Quality Improvement Process.
  • Performs other assigned duties.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent required; 2 year A.S. degree related to manufacturing desirable; significant prior job experience in an equivalent role may be substituted for education requirement;  minimum 1-5 years experience working with drawings and product structures in a manufacturing environment; ability to operate CAD software and spreadsheets; effective communications skills both written and verbal; able to work well under pressure while maintaining good judgment and organizational skills; maintaining accurate work methods, basic mechanical and electrical aptitude; able to perform proficiently in a team setting; able to accept and manage change.
