  • Overview

    This is an entry level position for a Mechanical Engineer working within the Reliability Engineering department responsible for the development and execution of test plans, fixturing and protocols needed to verify system and component reliability.   A strong background in math with emphasis on probability and statistical methods for predictive analysis is a must, as well as a high focus on achieving maximum customer satisfaction through the delivery of robust product designs verified through analysis and testing.        


    • Work with Design Engineering to determine reliability risks
    • Develop Reliability Verification Plans (RVPs) to address risks including timing and cost
    • Design test fixtures and create the necessary test protocols to execute the RVP
    • Monitor testing, record and analyze data and issue summary reports of test status
    • Attend Design Reviews and Product Development meetings to provide reliability input
    • Work with Test Lab Engineers and Technicians to assure tests are executed to the test protocol
    • Monitor test progress against the planned project timing and budget
    • Analyze test and field data using applicable software tools to predict reliability
    • Participate in root cause and corrective action activities for field issues
    • Maintain detailed, accurate and comprehensive project documentation


    Mechanical Engineer with strong knowledge of probability and statistics.  Experience designing mechanical systems and use of software related tools is required.  Experience in product testing and use of test data or analytical means to predict component and system reliability is a plus as is experience with reliability or statistical software related such as the Reliasoft Synthesis or Minitab.  Below is a summary of required and preferred skills. 


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
    • Design and/or Validation of Mechanical and Electromechanical Components and Systems
    • Use of analytical methods for developing robust designs (FEA, DOE, Statistical Modeling)
    • Generation of reliability test plans and test protocols using accelerated test methods
    • Experience in using statistical methods for predictive analysis
    • Hands on experience analyzing failed parts


    The desired individual will posses a high degree of motivation to learn and grow their experience in the field of Design Reliability.   The ability to work as part of a Team as well as effective communication skills are required.  The ability to multitask along with a strong “customer focused mindset” are needed to be successful in this position.
